Dr. Loftus, a female Cincinnati plastic surgeon, has appeared on THE VIEW, THE TODAY SHOW, MSNBC, CNN, and LATER TODAY (Liposuction and Breast Augmentation) as an expert on plastic surgery. She is considered a vocal advocate of patient safety, satisfaction, and education in plastic surgery.
Dr. Loftus’ highly acclaimed book, The Smart Woman’s Guide to Plastic Surgery, has become a best-selling book on plastic surgery since the release of the first edition in January, 2000 and its 2nd edition in 2008. Written by a female plastic surgeon for women, it contains essential information on breast augmentation, liposuction, and other cosmetic surgery procedures.

Training, Education, Memberships, and Background

Long before Dr. Loftus became a plastic surgeon, she undertook years of education, which began at the University of Wisconsin in 1981. Her training led her to the University of California-Davis and to the University of Cincinnati. But, before considering her 14 years of college, medical school, and residency complete, Dr. Loftus pursued a cosmetic surgery fellowship in Miami, Florida.

"I chose plastic surgery because, through it, plastic surgeons can change people in ways they never imagined possible. A change in appearance can transform someone’s whole outlook on life. Being a part of this metamorphosis is the most important and pleasurable part of my work."

Dr. Loftus is considered an authority by the media, having appeared on numerous talk shows and news shows. Dr. Loftus is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, which only admits plastic surgeons who are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, for which she has been granted the privilege to use the initials F.A.C.S. after her name.

Dr. Loftus has published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Loftus also recognized the need for a truly honest source of information about cosmetic surgery for patients. The fruit of her efforts, The Smart Woman’s Guide to Plastic Surgery, is now a popular book in the country on cosmetic surgery. This book has helped thousands of women across the country and around the world.

Current Practice

Dr. Loftus has been in the practice of cosmetic plastic surgery in and around Cincinnati, Ohio since 1995. Because Dr. Loftus is in private practice, you can be sure that you will see Dr. Loftus herself each time you come to the office, rather than a resident or student. Dr. Loftus’ private state-of-the-art operating room is fully accredited by AAAASF (The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities), which imposes stringent requirements. This affords patients a great combination of safety, comfort, and privacy when seeking plastic surgery. Dr. Loftus’ staff make patient comfort and safety their number one concern.

Dr. Loftus has a long and distinguished history of awards and recognitions. She was named one of Cincinnati’s Most Influential Women by the Cincinnati Post. She was named one of America’s Top Physicians as well as one of America's Top Surgeons by several organizations. She was awarded the Healthcare Hero Award by Cincinnati Business Courier. This award was chosen by a panel of healthcare providers and editors based on submissions and nominations of patients. She was recognized as an Outstanding Citizen by The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She was voted Best Doctor – Plastic Surgeon by over 4000 physicians in the Greater Cincinnati area who voted for the physicians in each specialty who they believe to be the best (published in Cincinnati Magazine). Whereas Dr. Loftus is flattered by these accolades, she is also humbled and is eager to point out that many excellent plastic surgeons practice in this country– she is flattered to be considered among them.

Medical Expert Witness in Plastic Surgery

Dr. Loftus is frequently asked to serve as a medical expert witness on medical liability cases around the country. She has reviewed many cases and has served as an expert witness for both the plaintiff and defense. She is sought as an expert witness in these cases because of her experience, judgment, notoriety, and fairness.
